Along my studies I have little by little understood that theology belongs to street and marketplaces and should belong to our every day lives so that real transformations by the Word of God occur. (Thailand, '05 Grad)

Every course I have taken has been miraculously timed by the Lord to fit in with the questions I had, the skills I needed to develop practically or issues I needed to think through at the time. (Graduate in Thailand)

Asia has a plethora of religions and invites a tendency to blend some of the old practices . . . That's why we insist that students be able to discern what is biblical, what is unbiblical; what is truth, what is untruth; and not simply accept everything that is presented to them. (Dr. Nienhuis)

Delivery of Courses

ABTS aims to accomplish its mission through an integrated program of biblical, theological, and professional studies delivered primarily through a combination of distance learning education courses and residence seminars offered in selected cities in Asia. Educational activities take place within the context of the student’s life, work and ministry setting. In most sites, four intensive seminars are held each year, with post seminar assignments due within 3 months. Audio taped courses, monitored by ABTS professors, are available with rolling enrollment.
