Asia is a vast area. It consists of many different nations and cultures.
Myanmar has a rich history as do many of its surrounding neighbors. Changes come to every country and for Myanmar it is no different. Many of you will know it by its former name, Burma, with its capital formerly known as Rangoon. Now it is called Myanmar with the capital being Yangon. But things continue to change. Recently the government seat was moved out of Yangon to Pyinmanar just over 200 miles north of Yangon. Discussion continues as to whether Pyinmanar will be called the capital. The future is not ours to see but we rejoice in all that God is doing in drawing many to Himself.

Education is one thing that all countries and cultures desire. We are privileged to have a small part in meeting educational needs in this vast Southeast Asia. The students of Myanmar are diligent and hard working. Their desire for greater knowledge is evident. For some it is a tremendous hardship to gain education but this does not hinder them. Sacrifices are made to learn as much as they can.

The history books are filled with lots of names you will recognize. Names like Adoniram Judson, William Carey, Mary Slessor, and Hudson Taylor. Daily, names continue to be added to the list of faithful servants. We may never read of the names in the history books, but those who are near them will know.
Pray for the ABTS students that God will meet their needs as they seek to study and serve.
