David Kennedy
Old Testament
After serving as the pastor of an independent Bible church and director of their Christian K-12 school for 6 years, I accepted a call to teach at Grand Rapids Theological Seminary in Michigan in 1980 (part of what is now Cornerstone University). I retired after teaching full-time for 32 years and was honored as Emeritus Professor of Old Testament in 2014. At the same time, I served as a Chaplain in the U.S. Army Reserve for 33 years, serving different kinds of units. I was mobilized in 2003, transferred to the Pentagon in 2004 to serve as Deputy Chaplain for the Joint Staff and retired in 2005. My specialty is teaching Hebrew and the Old Testament, but I have taught a wide variety of classes in English Bible (OT and NT), Hermeneutics, archaeology, and theology. I am married and my wife and I have three children. I am also active in service in our local church, to include serving on the Board of Deacons.
David Kennedy, Th.M., is an Emeritus Professor of Old Testament at Grand Rapids Theological Seminary, where he began teaching in 1980 after serving as a senior pastor. Since 2006, he has been actively involved in teaching across Asia with Cornerstone’s Asia Biblical Theological Seminary.
