Dr. Stuart Devenish is the Director of Postgraduate Studies at Tabor College of Advanced Education, South Australia, where he supervises research students and oversees the postgraduate program. His academic career includes leadership roles such as Director of Postgraduate Studies (2014-18) and Academic Dean, along with extensive experience teaching theology, mission, and spirituality across multiple institutions, including the Australian College of Ministries and Melbourne School of Theology. He holds a PhD in Religious Studies from Edith Cowan University, with a focus on Christian conversion, and has authored and edited several books, including Knowing Otherwise and Ordinary Saints. Dr. Devenish is also an independent scholar with a passion for Christian spirituality and ministry, and his work has spanned various leadership roles in both academic and pastoral settings. His pastoral experience includes service in churches in Australia and significant research in areas like youth spirituality and discipleship.
His faith began in regional Western Australia, where a radical conversion experience transformed him from a cultural Christian to a committed disciple almost overnight. This profound change sparked a lifelong call to ministry, leading him to pursue theological training and embark on a diverse and impactful career spanning over 40 years.
